Days 1
Ha Noi - Cuc Phuong National Park (--/L/D)
8:00 Driver of Lua Viet Tours will pick you up at your hotel. Depart from Hanoi to Ninh Binh (about 90 km) and reach Cuc Phuong National Park at around 11:00. Meet Cuc Phuong National Park guide.
- Start to visit the Endangered Primate Rescue Center (EPRC).
After leaving the EPRC, the car will bring you to the starting point of your two-day trek.
In the primary forest you will trek for three to four hours, passing limestone caves and trees over a millennium old.
- The destination is Langur Valley in the hopes of seeing the Cuc Phuong mascot and one of the rarest primates on the planet.
Lunch, dinner and overnight stay in a tent will be provided by the park guide.
In the evening you, the national park guide and the local guide will reenter the now pitch-dark forest and, with the aid of a spotting lamp, go in search of the forest’s numerous nocturnal creatures, which include civets, owls, flying squirrels, lorises, bats and cats.
Days 2
Cuc Phuong National park - Ha Noi (B/L/--)
After the sounds of the jungle have lulled you to sleep in the safety of your mosey net, you will awake refreshed and for another day of adventure. Finally return to the main road for collection by bus or motorbike.
Take a rest and have lunch at Park Center. Then get in the car to come back to Hanoi.
The order of destinations can be changed according to the circumstance.
Extra fees will be applied on public holidays.
Note:
- Maximum 4 people participate in the tour.
- Boots/sport shoes, headlights, clothes (warm clothes in winter), hat, camera, binoculars, insect repellent, …etc required.
- Trekking in the tropical rain forest is very different from trekking in the temperate or other forests. It is hot, wet and sometimes brings lots of leeches and mosquitoes. Furthermore, Cuc Phuong is located in an area with limestone mountains, so trekking is more difficult because of the rocky slopes.
